Donovan Bailey is one of the greatest and most successful and respected sprinters of all time.
The double Olympic and three-time World Champion became the fastest man in history when he set a new world record of 9.84 seconds in the 1996 Olympic 100m final.
Born in Jamaica, Donovan moved to Canada when he was ten and didn't take up sprinting until his mid 20s.
In 1995 he won the 100m World Championship title and the following year attained the highest peak speed by any human when he reached a staggering 27.07 mph on his way to Olympic 100m gold in Atlanta. Now an accomplished international broadcaster and a successful businessman Donovan has lost very close family members to prostate cancer.
